Social Justice from Classroom to Community Workshops
The idea for this series of workshops came from our experience with students in the Words of Engagement: An Intergroup Dialogue Program. After the program, many students expressed an interest in wanting further experience in developing life-skills around negotiating difference. SJCC offers intensive weekend workshops to provide students with skills development and know-how on how to make diversity and social change happen; and to provide small group experiential activities to create a blueprint for enabling social change.
Objectives:
Learn how to make positive community impact
Gain insight towards implementing social change
Develop action steps
Interact and create community with other likeminded students
Develop team and leadership skills.
