Home --> Faculty--> Faculty Research Forum

The Forum, held annually during the spring semester, showcases about 8 to 10 faculty members, chosen through a juried application process that the FRC oversees, and honors them for their contributions to diversity related research. Over 300 faculty, students, and staff members attend the Forum each year. The Forum is a collaborative effort between the FRC and a number of different co-sponsoring units, which have included the College of Journalism, the College of Health and Human Performance, the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, and the University of Maryland Libraries' Diversity Committee.

Co-Chairs, Faculty Relations Committee of the Diversity Initiative

What is Intergroup Dialogue?

Intergroup Dialogue is a facilitated form of interaction in which people from two or more social or cultural identity groups (i.e, Black/White or Men/Women) come together to collaboratively explore the issues that exist between, and attempt to build bridges across, the groups. It differs from debate in that participants listen for understanding, instead of listening to gain advantage to win an argument.
